¡Hola! I'm Mrs. Bleichner and I am excited to be teaching Spanish at Ellicott Mills Middle School. I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Oruro Bolivia (South America). My family moved to Maryland 20 years ago. I am a former Howard County Public School graduate, Long Reach High School. I continued at HCC where I obtained an A.A. in Business Administration, then transferred to University of Baltimore where I completed my B.S. in Business Administration. I have also had the opportunity to study abroad and to earn a global business certificate at Mahidol International University in Thailand. I married my Bolivian middle school sweetheart, whom I've been married to for 12 years. We now have four “Ameribolivian” children and furry child, Rosie, she's a labradoodle and just the sweetest dog. . During our free time, my family and I love to cook and try different types of food, travel, hike and enjoy learning new things.
This is my 3rd year teaching in Howard County, I started teaching Home and Hospital students in Howard County Public Schools. I also had the honor of serving as a Hispanic Achievement Liaison at Harper's Choice Middle School, Laurel Woods Elementary, Deep Run Elementary School School, Long Reach High School and a Spanish teacher at Folly Quarter Middle School.
I strongly believe that learning a new language opens up many opportunities in life. My personal belief is that school aged children are at a perfect age where they can learn another language if given the opportunity. I can't wait to see where this class will take you!
